Don’t Be A Sasquatch is a passion project of mine to raise awareness of the simplicity of reducing waste in your life. it can feel overwhelming to take everything on at once. At the same time it can feel defeating to think that the little things we can do will make a difference. it is true, we can make a difference no matter how big or how small our efforts are. I understand the busyness of life or how engrained our habits can be. But I would think that most people I have met, whether they like to go camping or not, love nature and know that our planet is important. This is our home and more importantly it is home to many living creatures and plants that need our stewardship. We need to be good stewards of this great gift of this planet.
Why Sasquatch?
It’s a playful way to talk about our footprint.
Modern life often leaves a big mark — through the things we consume, throw away, or don’t think twice about. But I believe we can shrink that footprint, without guilt, overwhelm, or shame. Step by step. Habit by habit.
What You’ll Find Here:
This space is meant to be:
A place for sharing easy, real-life ways to reduce waste
A place to celebrate small wins and inspiring stories
A reminder that nature matters — and we’re all connected to it
A spotlight on community and global efforts that are making a positive difference
A judgment-free zone that believes in progress, not perfection
I’ve lived off-grid in the woods, and I’ve lived in busy cities and suburbs as a single mom. So I know how important it is for change to feel accessible and sustainable. If something isn’t simple or joyful, it probably won’t stick — and that’s okay! That’s why I’ll always focus on what’s doable and encouraging.
Let’s Learn + Share Together
Whether you’re just starting out or deep into your sustainability journey, you’re welcome here. Share your ideas, your wins, your “I tried this and it worked!” moments. I’ll also be sharing articles, events, and stories from around the world to keep us inspired and informed.
Because this isn’t just about reducing waste —
it’s about caring for our home, and all the life it holds.
Thanks for being here
Let’s walk a little lighter, together.
