What's it all About?

About Don’t Be a Sasquatch
Small Steps. Smaller Footprints. Big Impact.
Welcome! Don’t Be a Sasquatch was born from the idea that reducing our environmental impact doesn’t have to be overwhelming, expensive, or boring. In fact, it can be fun, empowering, and something we actually feel good about doing.
We all know the myth of Bigfoot. But in the modern world, our real footprints—our consumption, our waste, our energy use—have gotten way out of proportion with the health of the planet. The truth is, we’re not just saving the Earth… we’re saving life on Earth. That includes our ecosystems, our future generations, and yes, even ourselves.
You don’t have to do everything — you just have to do something. And that something matters more than you know.
How Does This Work?
A lot of people are waking up.
Maybe it’s what they see on the news, what they’re learning in school, or the changes in weather, water, and wildlife around them. And yet… there are still so many folks who think it’s all too hard, or that their small efforts won’t make a difference.
Here’s the truth:
Every single effort does make a difference.
And when we share ideas, solutions, and encouragement with each other, we grow something powerful.
That’s what Don’t Be a Sasquatch is all about.

The world doesn’t need a few people doing sustainability perfectly. It needs millions of us doing it imperfectly, but consistently.
The Reduce Path: A Simple 4-Step Process
Making change doesn’t have to mean overhauling your whole life.
Start small. Start where you are. Here’s a simple process you can follow again and again:

Step 1: Notice
Look around. What’s one area in your life that feels wasteful? Maybe it’s your morning coffee cup, your plastic grocery bags, or how much food you toss each week. Just pick one thing.

Step 2: Brainstorm
Think about easy ways to reduce that waste that still fit your lifestyle.
Example: If it’s coffee, could you brew at home? Bring a reusable mug? Support a local café that offers sustainable options?

Step 3: Try it!
Make the switch. Try the new product, habit, or behavior. Be patient with yourself—change takes time. If you forget or fall back into old patterns, that’s okay. Just hop back on the horse.

Step 4: Celebrate and Repeat
Once you’ve integrated this change, give yourself a little high five. Then pick your next small footprint fix—and share your success! You might just inspire someone else to take that first step.
You’re Not Alone
All over the world, people are coming together to do things differently—communities banning plastic, companies going circular, schools teaching regenerative practices. And you can be part of that movement, right from your home.
This isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about being present, aware, and willing to try.
So thanks for being here. For caring. For choosing to step a little lighter.
Let’s walk this path together—and leave the world a little better than we found it.
Let’s not be Sasquatches.
